On Sunday, Hanjarwal police registered a case against the accused, Khuram Shahzad, and arrested him.
Although the accused had divorced his wife, the children were still living with him. Shahzad strangled the young victim and placed her on a bed while she was playing in the courtyard.
When a neighbour came to visit the kids, she noticed the girl was missing and asked for her. Khuram informed her next-door neighbour that she was sleeping in her room.

When the victim failed to rise, her father and a neighbour took her to Jinnah Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The victim was later moved for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. According to the autopsy report, the child was strangled to death.
Police stated that they had reason to suspect Khuram after he failed to appear to receive his daughter’s body and went missing.
Following his arrest on Sunday, the accused admitted to the murder, claiming that his ex-wife told him that “Zohra Fatima was not his daughter, and it was his friend’s blood that ran through her veins.”
“Her words kept hounding me,” he allegedly said to police.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
