Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz warned on Tuesday that Bahria Town may soon be forced to halt all operations nationwide due to mounting pressure and restrictions.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Riaz stated that Bahria Town’s operations have been crippled following the arrest of dozens of employees, freezing of company bank accounts, confiscation of staff vehicles, and other severe actions.
He said the company’s cash flow has collapsed, making it impossible to maintain daily services or pay salaries to thousands of employees. “We’re on the verge of a complete shutdown of Bahria Town projects across Pakistan,” Riaz added, cautioning that the situation is deteriorating rapidly.
Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) announced plans to auction several major properties owned by Malik Riaz on August 7, 2025.
