Property tycoon Malik Riaz, owner of Bahria Town, firmly stated he will neither testify nor yield to blackmail, regardless of pressure. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Riaz reiterated, “No matter the injustice, I won’t testify. This was my decision yesterday, and it remains unchanged today.”
The statement followed a recent warning by Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB), cautioning about potential money laundering risks tied to Riaz’s new Dubai project. Riaz reflected on his challenges in developing Bahria Town, including government obstacles, blackmail, and legal issues. Despite this, he credited his persistence and Allah’s support for its success.

Riaz shared his vision of transforming Pakistan’s real estate landscape, overcoming blackmail, false allegations, and corruption. He revealed that demands for his testimony led him to relocate abroad. His Dubai venture, BT Properties, has already attracted global investor interest. Praising the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, he highlighted the UAE’s supportive business environment, free from institutions like NAB.
Calling the NAB warning a form of blackmail, Riaz warned, “If I speak, secrets from the past 25–30 years will surface with evidence.” He expressed confidence in the success of BT Properties, asserting its contribution to Pakistan’s global reputation. He assured compliance with laws in all countries where his projects operate.
Riaz concluded by rejecting any attempts to use or blackmail him, emphasizing that his Dubai project would enhance Pakistan’s international standing. This statement comes amid NAB’s warning about illegal activities linked to Bahria Town’s Dubai project, with the government planning to coordinate with Dubai authorities to protect investors.
