Malaysia has offered its full support to Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at ending the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East. The announcement came during a telephonic conversation between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Malaysia for its support and assured that Pakistan would continue its sincere efforts to de-escalate the conflict. He briefed the Malaysian leader on Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives, including talks with leaders of Gulf countries and Iran, to bring the United States and Iran to the negotiating table.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim appreciated Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and shared that he had emphasized peace efforts in his conversations with other world leaders. Both leaders agreed on the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the ongoing crisis.
The conversation also included Eid-ul-Fitr greetings, with both leaders praying for unity and progress of the Muslim Ummah. They agreed to remain in close contact as the situation unfolds.
A day earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a separate telephone conversation with Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad bin Haji Hasan. The discussion focused on recent regional and international developments, emphasizing the need for negotiation, de-escalation, and diplomacy.

Pakistan’s efforts to mediate in the Middle East have received growing international recognition, and Malaysia’s endorsement strengthens Islamabad’s role as a peace facilitator.
