Lahore Traffic Police Cracks Down on Top 1,000 E-Challan Defaulters — Govt Vehicles Also Targeted
The Lahore Traffic Police has launched a major crackdown on the top 1,000 vehicles with the highest number of unpaid e-challans, including those belonging to government departments.
Led by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr. Athar Waheed, the operation aims to recover long-overdue fines using Safe City surveillance data and a fleet of 12 specialized recovery teams. These teams are actively identifying and tracking defaulters citywide, collecting fines on the spot.

So far, over 300 vehicles have been intercepted for non-payment. In one astonishing case, a motorcycle was found with 313 unpaid violations, amounting to Rs. 335,300 in total fines.
CTO Waheed confirmed that a number of government vehicles are also listed among the worst offenders. A separate list of these official vehicles has been compiled, with action expected imminently.
The traffic police are urging all citizens to clear their outstanding e-challans to avoid legal consequences, impoundment, or further penalties.
