Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the UK Parliament, recognizing her outstanding contributions to women’s empowerment and her role as a cultural ambassador. The award was presented during a prestigious ceremony at the House of Commons, with the support of British parliamentarians and other distinguished guests.

The event, hosted by Afzal Khan MP, was attended by notable figures including Dr. Sarah Naeem, the Pakistani High Commissioner, Atta Haq, Chairman of the Labour Asians Society, Shafiq Shahzad, Minister for Trade and Investment, and Manish Tiwari, co-chair of the Labour Asians Society. The presence of these prominent personalities highlighted the broad recognition and support for Mahira Khan’s impactful work.

Mahira Khan shared her achievement with her fans through an Instagram story, expressing gratitude for the recognition. Khan also shared a personal note about her journey, recalling that she was the first woman in her family to travel abroad alone. She studied at Santa Monica College and later at the University of Southern California (USC), an experience that played a pivotal role in shaping her independence and strength.

During her heartfelt address, Mahira Khan thanked her family, including her parents, brother, and son, for their unwavering support throughout her career. Speaking to the media after the ceremony, she expressed immense pride in receiving the award and highlighted that many other Pakistani artists also deserve such recognition for their contributions to the arts and society.
