M-Tag Compulsory for Motorcycles in Islamabad

The district administration of the federal capital has announced that M-Tag registration will now be compulsory for motorcycles, expanding the existing system to include two-wheelers. Under the revised policy, motorcycle owners can obtain the M-Tag quickly by bringing their vehicle, valid ownership papers, and their national identity card to designated registration points.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad informed residents that M-Tag installation services for motorcycles are available at 13 specified locations throughout the city. According to officials, the entire process has been streamlined and can be completed within approximately five minutes, making it convenient for citizens to comply with the new requirement.

Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against individuals found riding motorcycles without a registered M-Tag once the policy is fully enforced. The administration emphasized that the move is part of broader efforts to strengthen security measures in Islamabad and improve monitoring of vehicles. By ensuring that motorcycles are properly tagged and documented, officials believe the system will support law enforcement agencies in preventing crime and enhancing public safety.

Residents have been encouraged to cooperate with the district administration and complete the M-Tag registration process without delay. Officials stressed that timely compliance will not only help avoid legal consequences but also contribute to maintaining a safer environment across the capital.
