LONDON: Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) London are investigating attacks on Pakistani YouTubers Adil Raja and Shahzad Akbar. The attacks occurred simultaneously on December 24, 2025, in Chesham and Cambridge. Authorities suspect the assaults may have been coordinated.
Adil Raja’s home in Chesham was broken into by two men wearing dark clothing around 8am. The house was unoccupied at the time, and police say no clear motive has been confirmed. Officers from CTP London are leading the investigation due to the targeted nature of the attack. No items have been reported stolen so far.
Shahzad Akbar was assaulted at his home in Cambridge at approximately 8:08am on the same day. Police described the incident as serious but said there is no believed threat to the wider public. Officers continue to investigate the connection between the two attacks.
A CTP London spokesperson stated, “The highly targeted nature of both incidents has prompted Counter-Terrorism Policing to take charge. We remain open to all possible motives and links between the cases. The public is not at risk at this stage.”
On December 31, 2025, Akbar’s property was again targeted. Two men reportedly broke a window and attempted to throw a burning rag inside the house. The object fell outside and caused no damage. The suspects were described as hooded men dressed in black. London police are investigating both the December 24 and December 31 incidents together.
