Lahore Launches Mobile Licensing Vans for Learner, International, and Renewal Driving Permits

In a major step towards citizen convenience, Lahore’s traffic police have launched a mobile road service enabling residents to obtain learner, international, and renewal driving licenses without visiting traffic offices. The initiative was announced by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Dr. Ather Waheed, on Tuesday.

A fleet of 44 mobile vans equipped with state-of-the-art licensing machinery has been deployed across key sectors of the city. Each van is outfitted with laptops integrated into the central licensing system, allowing for real-time data entry, verification, and on-the-spot license issuance.

Dr. Waheed emphasized that the mobile service is aimed at easing overcrowding at traffic offices and making the license application process more accessible. “Thousands of citizens have already taken advantage of the service,” he noted, adding that the effort prioritizes both efficiency and public convenience.

The mobile licensing initiative is part of broader reforms to digitize and streamline traffic management services in Lahore, enhancing the overall experience for drivers and improving compliance with road safety regulations.
