The court also instructed all private offices in Lahore to adopt a work-from-home policy for two days each week to reduce commuter traffic and improve air quality. Additionally, it ordered markets to close every Sunday to help curb pollution.

The traffic police were directed to take strict action against smoke-emitting vehicles, with support from the Dolphin Police. Justice Shahid Karim recommended imposing fines of Rs. 50,000 on vehicles that produce excessive smoke.

The provincial government was tasked with strictly enforcing these measures to address the severe smog impacting residents’ health and daily lives, particularly in urban areas.
