Layyah police have swiftly arrested a suspect involved in the abduction and assault of a woman.
According to reports, District Police Officer (DPO) Layyah, Muhammad Ali Waseem, promptly deployed a special team that acted swiftly, rescuing the victim unharmed within hours and apprehending the culprit.
The suspect allegedly kidnapped the woman at gunpoint from the shrine of Pir Jagi Sharif and assaulted her at an undisclosed location.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged, and immediate legal proceedings are underway. DPO Layyah reaffirmed the police’s commitment to implementing Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s policy of zero tolerance for violence and harassment against women.
Muhammad Ali Waseem further stated that Layyah police remain dedicated to taking prompt action in cases of harassment and abuse, ensuring the safety and legal protection of victims.
