“Bhai Bhai Channel, Not BBC”: Lahori Reporter Goes Viral for Humorous Flood Coverage

While Punjab battles severe flooding, social media found comic relief in viral clips of reporter Mehrunnisa, whose dramatic boat coverage left viewers in stitches. Many mistook her for a BBC Urdu journalist, but she was in fact reporting for “Bhai Bhai Channel,” a name whose initials amusingly match the global broadcaster.

Covering the raging Sutlej, Ravi, and Chenab rivers, Mehrunnisa’s on-camera professionalism quickly turned into panic. “We’re terrified! The boat keeps tipping; we can’t balance!” she exclaimed, before signing off with the now-viral line: “Bas aap hamare liye dua karein, guys.”

The videos spread widely, prompting BBC to clarify it had no connection with Bhai Bhai Channel and urging audiences to verify sources. Mehrunnisa, however, embraced the mix-up with humor, quipping, “Our BBC isn’t British Broadcasting Corporation — it’s Bhai Bhai Channel!”

From fear on the water to sudden online fame, her reporting has turned the floods into an unexpected stage for internet stardom.

These floods were emerged rapidly due to Indian Water Release in Pakistan
