Lahore Traffic Police Introduce New Uniforms Under CM Policy

The Lahore City Traffic Police have officially introduced new uniforms for traffic wardens as part of the modern policing vision of Maryam Nawaz, Chief Minister of Punjab.

A formal ceremony was held in Lahore where Dr. Muhammad Athar Waheed, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, along with senior officials, unveiled the redesigned attire alongside traffic wardens.

According to Dr. Athar Waheed, starting Monday, March 9, all traffic personnel will begin performing duties across city roads while wearing the new uniforms.

The redesigned uniforms feature a modern and distinctive style aimed at improving comfort for wardens while presenting a more citizen-friendly and approachable image to the public.

During the summer season, traffic wardens will wear navy blue pants, white shirts, and reflective jackets, while navy blue jerseys will be added during winter to complete the uniform.

Similarly, employees working at licensing centers and traffic offices, including both male and female staff, will perform their duties wearing navy blue pants, coats, ties, white shirts, and PK caps.

Officials said the colors, badges, and overall design of the uniforms were developed in accordance with international policing standards, ensuring a professional and modern appearance for the force.

The initiative aims to strengthen professionalism within the traffic department, boost morale among wardens, and build stronger public trust so that citizens view the police as protectors and helpers.

In addition to the uniform changes, traffic police in Lahore will receive new vehicles equipped with modern technology, while authorities have also launched a multi-functional “One App” to assist officers during duty.

Through the app, traffic wardens can access multiple operational tools with a single click, including driving license verification, ID checks, e-challan management, crime record access, stolen vehicle data, fitness certificates, and route permits.
