Lahore Underworld’s Gangster Faizan Boxer Killed in CCD Encounter

An alleged underworld criminal, Faizan Boxer, was killed on Friday during an encounter with the Punjab Crime Control Department (CCD) in Lahore, police have confirmed. The incident occurred in the Ichhra area while he was being transported under police custody for further legal processing.

According to Punjab police officials, a CCD Kotwali team was escorting Faizan Boxer to Sheikhupura for an identification process tied to multiple criminal cases when gunmen believed to be his associates ambushed the convoy. The attackers opened fire in an attempt to free him from custody, prompting a firefight between them and the police escort.

During the exchange of gunfire, authorities said Boxer was fatally struck by bullets fired by his own accomplices, not by law enforcement personnel. No officers of the CCD escort team were reported injured in the incident, according to police. Weapons were reportedly recovered at the scene, and a follow-up search operation was launched to apprehend the remaining attackers.

Police described Faizan Boxer as a notorious figure in Lahore’s underworld, wanted in several serious criminal cases, including murder, armed robbery, and violent assault across different parts of the city. He had been a priority target for law enforcement under the CCD’s intensified crackdown on organised crime networks throughout Punjab.

The Crime Control Department, established to strengthen the police response to violent crime, has recently been involved in multiple high-profile operations against alleged gangsters and criminal syndicates. In October 2025, another prominent suspect linked to organised crime in Punjab, Khawaja Tareef Gulshan (Teefi Butt), was killed in a similar encounter while being transported by police after extradition.

Authorities say such actions are part of a wider effort to curb criminal activity and improve public safety. However, some civil society voices and legal observers have previously expressed concern about the rise in fatal encounters and have called for careful oversight to ensure proper legal procedures are followed.
