Heavy Rains Disrupt Lahore Life As Fourth Monsoon Spell Strikes

Heavy rains have hit Lahore, causing widespread flooding and disruption across the city. Low-lying areas in Lahore are submerged, with many streets turning into flowing rivers. The intense downpour has made daily life difficult for residents in several neighborhoods.

According to reports, Tajpura recorded the highest rainfall in Lahore, with 115 millimeters falling in a short period. This heavy rain led to waterlogging in many areas, blocking roads and hampering traffic movement. Residents have expressed frustration over the local administration’s response, questioning its readiness and ability to handle the situation effectively.

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) teams in Lahore have been working throughout the day to clear blocked drains and help reduce water accumulation. Despite their efforts, many parts of the city still face severe waterlogging.

A tragic incident occurred in Lakhodair village near Lahore, where a house roof collapsed due to the heavy rain. One person lost their life, and three others were injured in this accident. Emergency services rushed to the scene to provide medical assistance.

The Meteorological Department has warned that the rain spell in Lahore will continue intermittently until July 25. Citizens are advised to stay cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall periods.

Local authorities in Lahore are urged to improve their flood management strategies to prevent future damage. The recent heavy rains have highlighted the need for better infrastructure and timely response to natural disasters.

In summary, Lahore continues to face challenges from the ongoing monsoon rains. With sustained efforts, officials aim to restore normalcy and reduce the impact on residents.
