A sessions court has granted interim relief to YouTuber Rajab Butt, preventing police from arresting him until June 21 in a case involving allegations of rape, blackmail, and unlawful confinement of a social media activist.

Additional Sessions Judge Suleman Ghumman heard the interim bail petition, with Advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq representing Rajab Butt. The YouTuber appeared in court and marked his attendance.

The court instructed Butt to cooperate with the investigation while barring his arrest during this period.

Earlier, Nawab Town Police registered an FIR based on the complaint of a female social media activist, who accused Salman Haider, a relative of Butt, of drugging, assaulting, and recording explicit videos of her, which were later used for blackmail.

She further alleged that she was illegally detained at Salman Butt’s residence with Rajab Butt’s involvement, along with others, including Maan Dogar.

The FIR includes charges under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and police have launched a formal investigation to verify the claims and identify all responsible parties.

Rajab Butt has previously faced legal controversies, including a blasphemy case linked to his perfume brand “295,” which sparked public backlash. He later clarified that the issue arose from misunderstanding and reiterated his respect for religious sentiments. Additionally, he has faced criticism for allegedly promoting inappropriate content online.
