The Lahore Court has extended the interim bail of popular YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikTok star Nadeem Naniwala until January 26, amid ongoing investigations by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
Both social media personalities appeared in court under heavy security following earlier incidents in Karachi. The hearing was conducted by Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi, who reviewed their interim bail applications.
During the session, the lawyer representing the NCCIA informed the court that the investigating officer was currently engaged in proceedings at the High Court. The lawyer requested additional time to submit complete investigation records.
The Lahore Court accepted this request and temporarily put the bail applications on hold. This decision effectively extended the interim bail of Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala until the next hearing.
The extension ensures that the investigation can continue without interrupting the legal process, while both accused remain out of custody under judicial supervision. Sources said the court carefully considered the NCCIA’s request before making its decision.
Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala have previously faced public scrutiny following online harassment incidents. Both personalities are known for their social media activities, which have sometimes sparked controversy and legal challenges.
The court noted that the next hearing is scheduled for January 26, during which the NCCIA is expected to present further investigation records and clarify the status of potential charges. Authorities have emphasized the need for the investigation to proceed systematically to ensure transparency and justice.
The Lahore Court’s decision highlights the judiciary’s effort to balance the rights of social media influencers with the demands of ongoing investigations. Legal experts say such interim bail extensions are common in cases where additional time is required to compile complete evidence.
