In a significant legal development, the Lahore District and Sessions Court on Monday declared YouTuber Rajab Butt innocent in a high-profile rape case filed against him earlier this month. The court ruling came after police submitted that the allegations lacked merit and were unsupported by evidence.
Additional Sessions Judge Syed Najaf Haider Kazmi presided over the hearing, where Rajab Butt and co-accused Salman Haider appeared alongside their legal counsel. During proceedings, the investigating officer informed the court that Rajab Butt and two other individuals had been found not guilty following a detailed investigation.

As a result of the exoneration, Rajab Butt voluntarily withdrew his interim bail application, which was then formally disposed of by the court. However, co-accused Salman Haider’s interim bail was extended until July 3, as inquiries into his alleged involvement continue.
The original complaint, filed on June 10 at Nawab Town Police Station, accused five individuals—among them popular content creators Rajab Butt and Maan Dogar—of rape, blackmail, and illegal confinement. The female complainant alleged that Salman Haider, a cousin of Rajab Butt, drugged and assaulted her, later blackmailing her with explicit footage. She also claimed Rajab Butt had confined her in a room, with others allegedly complicit.
While Rajab Butt has been cleared, the broader investigation remains ongoing, with legal proceedings against other accused individuals still underway.
