Lahore Launches New Road Projects Valued At Rs. 5.68 Billion

The Lahore Highway Division, under directives from Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has fast-tracked the maintenance and rehabilitation of key roads in Raiwind and nearby areas. The projects aim to facilitate smooth travel for participants of the annual Tablighi Ijtima.

Officials confirmed that 13 road projects covering 70 kilometers have been successfully completed. The Punjab government also reported savings of Rs. 600 million through transparent tendering and cost-efficient execution.

Four major connecting roads in Raiwind have been fully repaired. Workers filled potholes, restored shoulder roads, and refreshed lane markings, improving overall road safety and accessibility for the event.

The Sundar-Raiwind Road up to Ijtima Chowk has been patched and marked, while Mian Ji Abdullah Road and the 2-kilometer Sundar-to-Markaz stretch underwent full rehabilitation. The upgrades ensure smoother traffic flow for visitors.

Additionally, the 11-kilometer Pajian Bypass to Bachoki Phatak route has been repaired with renewed shoulders. A 2.5-kilometer section of Railway Road has also been reconstructed to enhance travel efficiency.

Authorities highlighted that the completed projects will benefit not only Ijtima attendees but also daily commuters by improving road quality and traffic management across the region. These improvements are part of the Punjab government’s broader plan to modernize road infrastructure in Lahore and its surrounding districts.

The government emphasized timely completion and strict monitoring of all projects. Officials added that the enhancements reflect a commitment to transparency, efficiency, and public safety.
