Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon marked a major off-screen achievement by speaking at the World Health Summit 2025 in Berlin. She was the only Indian actress invited to address the international gathering.
As the UNFPA India Honorary Ambassador for Gender Equality, Kriti Sanon focused on women’s health and the importance of gender equality. She highlighted that investing in women’s health is essential for global development.
During her keynote session titled “Women’s Health—Global Wealth: Catalysing Returns on Bold Investments,” Kriti Sanon stated, “Women’s health is not a side issue; it’s the foundation of humanity’s progress and future.” She stressed that women must have a voice in decisions affecting their bodies, emphasizing the phrase, “Nothing about her, without her.”
Kriti Sanon also discussed the ongoing disparity in healthcare spending for women, despite women making up more than half of the global population. She presented compelling statistics, noting that every $300 million invested in women’s health can yield returns of up to $13 billion.
Sharing her experiences from rural villages, Kriti Sanon recounted instances of child marriage and inadequate maternity care. She emphasized that timely interventions could transform lives and improve communities.
Her participation at the summit reflects Kriti Sanon’s commitment to social change and advocacy for gender equality. Beyond her acting career, she continues to influence global discussions on public health and women’s empowerment.
