The schedule applies to all government and private institutions under the provincial education authority.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government had already set its summer vacation dates earlier. Afternoon shift schools began their break on May 25, while other schools started from May 28. All schools in Punjab are expected to reopen on August 15, weather permitting.
The extended school closures aim to safeguard students from heat-related health risks during the ongoing heatwave, following appeals from parents and education experts.
