KP Govt Introduces Updated School Hours for Summer

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has adjusted school hours and initiated summer vacations on Sunday due to the intense heat prevailing in the province.

In line with the revised schedule, schools will now commence at 7 am instead of 8 am. Primary schools will conclude classes at 11 am, while middle and secondary schools will end at 12 pm.

Attributing the timing change to the extreme heat, the provincial education department clarified that primary schools will observe summer holidays from June 1 to August 31. Meanwhile, middle, high, and higher secondary schools will have vacations from June 15 to August 31. Schools located in cooler regions will commence their summer break from July 1 until August 31, as per the directives of the Education Department.

This decision by the KP government follows Punjab’s recent announcement of a seven-day school closure due to the severe heat conditions.
