Khyber Medical University (KMU) has announced centralized admissions for private-sector MBBS and BDS programs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the 2026-27 academic session. The online admission process will cover private medical and dental colleges across the province.
The KMU admission portal will open on October 6, 2026. Eligible candidates will be able to submit their applications online until November 9, 2026. The university has also announced the merit formula, eligibility requirements and complete admission schedule.
The centralized MBBS admission process includes 10 private medical colleges. These include Abbottabad International Medical College, Frontier Medical College, Jinnah Medical College, Kabir Medical College, Muhammad College of Medicine, North West School of Medicine, Pak International Medical College, Peshawar Medical College, Rehman Medical College and Women Medical College Abbottabad. The Women Medical College option is for female candidates.
For BDS admissions, five dental colleges are included in the centralized process. These are the Dental Section of Abbottabad International Medical College, Peshawar Dental College, Rehman College of Dentistry, Sardar Begum Dental College and the Dental Section of Women Medical College Abbottabad. Some of these programs are reserved for female candidates.
Applicants must have passed HSSC, FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent qualification with at least 60 percent marks. Candidates must also have passed MDCAT in 2024, 2025 or 2026. A minimum of 55 percent in MDCAT is required for MBBS admission, while BDS applicants need at least 50 percent.
Candidates with qualifications obtained outside Pakistan must meet the applicable equivalence requirements. Those applying for foreign quota seats must also meet the relevant undergraduate admission rules and requirements.
KMU will calculate the admission aggregate using three components. SSC or Matric results will carry 10 percent weightage, HSSC or FSc Pre-Medical results will carry 40 percent, while MDCAT marks will have the highest weightage of 50 percent.
The entire application process will be conducted online. Candidates will have to complete the centralized admission form, enter their personal and academic information and upload the required documents. KMU will not accept printed applications submitted through post or courier.
Applicants should carefully select their preferred colleges because these preferences will be considered during the placement process. Candidates are also advised to keep their original fee slip, as it may be required during the admission process.
After the application deadline on November 9, the provisional merit list will be published on November 11. Candidates will be able to submit objections or claims on November 11 and 12. The Appellate Scrutiny Committee will meet on November 16, followed by the final merit list on November 24.
Placement in different MBBS and BDS categories will take place from December 8 to 12, 2026. A second placement round for vacant seats is scheduled for December 21 to 24, followed by a third round from January 4 to 7, 2027.
Selected candidates will be required to deposit the prescribed admission fee within three working days of receiving their admission offer. KMU has also warned that admissions can be cancelled if candidates provide fake, forged or incorrect documents.
