Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set to establish a dedicated security wing for VIP protection, as reported by a private news channel on Friday. The Home Department has drafted a summary for this initiative, and the provincial government plans to recruit 11,483 personnel for the new security wing.
According to official documents cited by the news channel, 10,483 security personnel in the region are currently assigned to protect high-profile individuals, causing a shortage of officers available for general public safety.

To address this, a new wing named the Security Division will be established, specifically tasked with VIP security. The division will include 8 Superintendents of Police (SPs), 105 Sub-Inspectors, 210 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 1,048 Constables, and 10,483 additional constables.
Recruitment will occur in three phases, with an annual budget exceeding 6 billion rupees allocated for the project. The Home Department’s summary will be submitted to the cabinet for approval, and the project is expected to be completed by 2026.
