The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved Rs. 30 million under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for a sports complex in Karak district. The project aims to provide modern facilities and opportunities for youth in the region.

During a site inspection, the deputy commissioner reviewed the proposed location. He instructed authorities to include an access road from the Indus Highway in the project plan to improve connectivity.

The district sports officer briefed the deputy commissioner on the project’s costs. He said the total estimated cost of the sports complex is Rs. 657.169 million. Land acquisition alone accounts for Rs. 186.879 million, which will soon be transferred to the land acquisition collector, Karak.

Officials discussed the availability of land, legal requirements, and the future steps needed to ensure timely completion. They highlighted the importance of proper planning before starting construction.

The deputy commissioner said the sports complex will benefit local youth by offering better sports facilities. He added that the project will help promote healthy activities and encourage participation in various sports.

Authorities also emphasized that the sports complex will serve as a hub for athletes, creating opportunities for talent development in Karak. The initiative is part of the KP government’s broader plan to improve sports infrastructure across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Once completed, the facility is expected to include modern playing fields, indoor arenas, and recreational areas for multiple sports. It will host training sessions, tournaments, and youth programs, providing a platform for emerging athletes.
