During a news conference, the minister said that a new transmission line was also being built for Thar coal power projects.

He expressed hope that the transmission line would be completed before the summer season by National Transmission and Despatch Corporation (NTDC).

According to the minister, an agreement has been signed with Iran for the provision of 100 MW to Gwadar. “A 29-kilometer transmission line has already been laid to import 100 megawatts of electricity from the neighbouring countries,” he added.

He stated that construction on the transmission line began in June 2022 and was finished in record time. The transmission line would be inaugurated soon, according to the prime minister.

According to the minister, it would also ensure that Gwadar has 24 hour electricity, which will attract foreign companies. He also stated that it would increase job prospects in Gwadar.

Khurram further stated that a 765 KV grid station in Manshera was being built to generate power from the Dasu and Diamer Basha dams. “Land for the gird station has already been secured, and the World Bank has supplied funding for the project,” he claimed. He stated that the grid station would be built within the following 30 months.

In response to another question, he stated that the first 600MW solar projects would be auctioned on next month.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
