Journalist Khawar Hussain’s Death Confirmed As Suicide Official Report

The mysterious death of journalist Khawar Hussain has been officially ruled a suicide. His body was found inside his car in Sanghar on August 16. A fact-finding committee conducted a detailed investigation.

The committee’s preliminary report is based on forensic, medical, and CCTV evidence. It confirms that Khawar Hussain ended his own life.

Investigators found that Hussain reset his mobile phone to factory settings before his death. He also removed the SIM card and deleted all data. His last phone call was to a water tanker driver near Hyderabad. After this call, no further phone activity was recorded.

CCTV footage showed Khawar Hussain entering a hotel parking lot at 8:15 PM. He then went to a nearby tire shop where he obtained his phone PIN and removed the SIM card. Investigators say he died between 10:05 AM and 10:15 AM inside his vehicle.

Police recovered Hussain’s licensed personal pistol from the car. Forensic tests confirmed the gun was fired inside the vehicle. This evidence supports the suicide conclusion. Authorities found no signs of murder or foul play.

The Sindh Home Department has formed a high-level inquiry committee. The committee includes senior police officials and will finalize the report. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice and requested a detailed briefing.

Khawar Hussain’s family stated they were unaware of his trip to Sanghar. They also said he had no known enemies.

His funeral prayers will be held after Zuhr at his ancestral graveyard in Sanghar.

This case highlights the importance of thorough investigations in sensitive matters involving journalists.
