Karachi’s major commercial hubs are observing a citywide strike today as traders express solidarity with the people of Gaza. Key retail and wholesale markets, including Saddar, Old City Area, Hyderi, Liaquatabad, Tariq Road, and Sarafa Bazaar, remain closed in protest.
Trader associations have rallied behind the strike, urging the public to support it. Rizwan Irfan, President of the Electronics Markets, confirmed that all electronics markets in the city are participating, calling it a symbolic show of unity. Jameel Paracha, a leader of the Karachi Traders Alliance, echoed similar sentiments, stating, “The business community stands with the people of Gaza.”

Wholesale markets, including Jodia Bazaar Medicine Market and Shershah Scrap Market, have also joined the strike. Protest camps against Israel are expected to be set up, as the general public and the trading community continue to rally in support of Gaza.
