The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted moderate respite from the ongoing heatwave gripping Karachi and parts of Sindh, offering some relief to residents battling high temperatures.
According to a statement from the PMD’s Early Warning Centre, stronger-than-usual winds are expected to sweep Karachi over the next three days, with temperatures likely to hover between 34°C and 36°C on Thursday and Friday. However, evening humidity levels could spike to 50%–60%, making conditions feel warmer and more oppressive despite the drop in mercury.

Elsewhere in Sindh, the PMD forecasts that the intense heat will begin to subside starting Friday, as a western weather system moves into the upper regions of the country. Under its influence, thunderstorms and light rain are expected in the Jamshoro district, with rural areas across Sindh likely to see scattered showers and thunderstorms between May 2 and May 5.
Authorities have advised residents to take precautions against sudden weather shifts, particularly as high humidity and thunderstorms could pose localized risks.
