Karachi Police Issue New Safety Guidelines Amid Rising Child Abduction Cases
In response to a troubling surge in child abduction cases, Karachi police have introduced new safety guidelines aimed at enhancing the protection of children. The guidelines are directed at schools and seminaries, urging them to take proactive measures to safeguard students.
Key Safety Guidelines
The advisory emphasizes that children should only be allowed to leave school or seminary premises with their parents or legal guardians. Parents are also strongly urged to avoid sending children to school or seminaries unaccompanied, stressing the importance of supervised travel to ensure children’s safety.

Recent Abduction Attempt in Korangi
A recent abduction attempt in Korangi’s Bhitai Colony underscored the urgency of these measures. The attempted kidnapping was thwarted when the child and a woman accompanying her raised an alarm, causing the would-be abductors to flee.
The frightening incident took place in Sector D, and was captured on CCTV. The footage shows a woman walking with the child when two men on a motorcycle approached. One of the men tried to grab the child, but she resisted and began shouting. The woman also called for help, prompting the men to abandon their attempt and flee.
Reports indicate that the suspect threatened the girl, warning her of harm if she did not comply. Following the incident, the Korangi SSP confirmed that an investigation is underway based on the family’s statement, and legal action is being taken to track down the suspects.
Unresolved Cases Raising Alarms
The attempted abduction has drawn attention to the troubling fact that several child abduction cases remain unsolved, heightening concerns over law enforcement’s effectiveness. One such case involves Sarim, a young boy who was kidnapped and later found dead after going missing from his apartment complex in New Karachi. Despite investigations, the police have yet to identify the culprit.
Additionally, the case of Aaliyan (5) and Ali (6), who disappeared from the Garden West area, remains unresolved. CCTV footage of their abduction shows a man and woman on a motorcycle with the children, who appear to be semi-conscious. Despite this crucial evidence, authorities have been unable to locate the suspects or the children.
These unresolved cases have sparked widespread concern among parents and the community, placing increased pressure on authorities to take immediate and effective action to prevent further abductions and ensure the safety of children in Karachi.
