Karachi Police Detain Gang Led by Woman Thief

Karachi police apprehended six members of a carjacking gang led by a woman, Anisa Kiran, who is accused of stealing vehicles and robbing factory workers. The arrests were made by FB Industrial Area police last week, as confirmed by SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui, marking a significant step against carjacking in the city.

The gang, comprising 22 members, specifically targeted factory vehicles and cashiers, carrying out numerous thefts and robberies across Karachi. Police disclosed that Anisa’s husband, Saad, was her accomplice, recruiting young men with promises of quick money.

Among the arrested suspects are Sherdil, Abdul Rafi, Kabir, Basit, Saad, and Anisa Kiran. Police noted that Basit recently returned from Dubai, while the others had evaded capture for over a year. Recovered items include three pistols, cash, and mobile phones stolen in robberies across areas such as Bilal Colony, Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan, Defence, and Gulshan-e-Maymar.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to multiple carjackings and robberies. The police are actively pursuing other gang members and working to recover additional stolen vehicles.

This operation highlights ongoing efforts by Karachi police to curb organized crime and bring offenders to justice.
