Karachi Matric Board Website Goes Down After Class 9 Results Released

The Karachi Matric Board announced the Class 9 Science and General Group (Regular and Private) annual exam results for 2025, but the excitement quickly turned to frustration as the official website crashed, preventing thousands of students from accessing their scores online.

According to reports, the results were declared in the afternoon and were supposed to be available online by 4 PM. However, the system malfunctioned soon after, leaving students unable to check their results for several hours.

Over 177,000 students appeared in the Science Group exams, with a 78% pass rate, while more than 133,000 candidates cleared all subjects. The General Group recorded a 54% pass rate out of nearly 15,000 participants.

Many students voiced anger over the outage, urging the board to introduce alternative result channels like SMS or WhatsApp notifications. Board spokesperson Muhammad Ali Jafri attributed the crash to heavy online traffic, assuring that the issue would be resolved soon.

Technical experts, meanwhile, suggested upgrading the website’s backend and using cloud-based servers to prevent similar breakdowns during future announcements. Despite strong academic performance, the website failure overshadowed what should have been a day of celebration for Karachi’s students.
