Karachi Kings Extends PSL Franchise Deal for an Additional 10 Years

Karachi Kings have extended their Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise agreement for another ten years, the PCB confirmed on Tuesday.

The renewal was finalized based on the market valuation set by EY MENA. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the team’s role in boosting the league’s profile and said, “Karachi Kings’ decision to extend their agreement reflects their confidence in the PSL’s future.” He also praised franchise owner Salman Iqbal and his team for their “commendable” contributions.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer described it as an honor to continue collaboration with Karachi Kings, noting that the 2020 PSL champions remain among the league’s most popular teams.

Starting from PSL Season 11, the league will expand to eight teams, marking its largest structural change since its inception.

Previously, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi had renewed their franchise agreements for ten years, following EY-MENA valuations. Qalandars’ new annual fee will be around PKR 670 million, while Zalmi’s is estimated at PKR 500 million. Most other franchises are expected to follow, except Multan Sultans, whose renewal faces disputes due to higher fees.
