Karachi Experiences Record Cold Morning

Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, experienced its chilliest morning of 2024 on Thursday, with the temperature dropping to 14°C, as reported by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Meteorological Department noted that the city’s temperature reached its lowest point in the first week of the new year, influenced by the north-east winds at a speed of eight kilometers per hour.

Additionally, the met department predicts light rain for Karachi today. Moreover, due to the stable atmospheric conditions, fog is expected to persist over Punjab, including Islamabad, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.

The Meteorological Department anticipates light to moderate rain, along with wind and thunderstorms (including snowfall over hills), in various parts of Balochistan today and tomorrow. The affected areas comprise Chaghi, Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Qilla Abdullah, Qillah Saifullah, Loralai, Pishin, Mastung, Zhob, Kalat, Musa Khel, Kharan, Harnai, Sibbi, Noshki, Khuzdar, and the Makran coast.
