Karachi’s business community has revealed plans to launch a new airline, Air Karachi, which has already been registered with Pakistan’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP). The airline has submitted its application for a federal operating license.
Air Karachi intends to start its operations with three leased aircraft, and the airline will be led by retired Air Vice Marshal Imran, appointed as CEO. The project has an initial investment of Rs. 5 billion, with shareholders each contributing Rs. 50 million.

This development comes as part of a wider trend in Pakistan’s aviation sector, with several other new airlines, including Jet Green, Q Airways, and Go Green Air, vying for their licenses. Additionally, Air Indus has requested permission to resume flights, highlighting the sector’s growth potential and expected positive impact on the economy, tourism, and employment.
