Karachi Board BIEK Releases New Date Sheet for Matric Exams 2026

Karachi students faced unexpected disruption as their Matric Exams were postponed at the last moment. The issue occurred due to the failure of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi to issue admit cards on time. This created confusion and stress among thousands of students across the city.

To address the situation, the board released a revised schedule for the Matric Exams. According to the updated date sheet, exams will now begin on April 10 instead of April 7. Officials said the delay was necessary to ensure all students receive their admit cards before the exams start.

On the first day, Class 10 Computer Science students from the Science Group will appear in their exam. Meanwhile, the Class 9 Computer Studies paper is scheduled for April 11. The board confirmed that all papers for Science and General Groups will be conducted in the morning shift.

Exams will take place from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM daily. Students have been advised to reach their centers at least 30 minutes early. Authorities emphasized punctuality to avoid further disruptions during the Matric Exams process.

The board also confirmed that admit cards have now been issued. Schools were allowed to collect them on April 6 with an official authority letter. The cards were made available at the conference hall in Block B starting from 9:00 AM. Officials stated that all students have now received their admit cards.

The Matric Exams will continue until April 28. This period is considered crucial for students as it plays a key role in their academic future. Many students are now focusing on preparation after the uncertainty caused by the delay.

However, the situation has drawn criticism from various groups. The All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association raised concerns over mismanagement. Lawmakers from Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan described the delay as an “educational tragedy.” They also demanded a system for downloadable admit cards to prevent such issues in the future.
