Karachi Airport is set to enhance its infrastructure with an ambitious upgrade of runway 07L, which will be reclassified under category 4F, enabling it to handle the world’s largest aircraft, including the Airbus A380, which can carry up to 600 passengers. This upgrade is a part of a larger plan to position Karachi as a major international air hub.
The construction of the new runway involves demolishing the existing one, with completion expected by the end of 2025. The upgraded runway will facilitate the landing of larger, long-haul flights, meeting the growing demand for high-capacity air travel. This project is crucial for accommodating massive aircraft and will greatly enhance the airport’s operational capacity.
