K-pop Girl Band NMIXX Introduces Fresh Sound at London Festival

South Korean girl group NMIXX recently took their “mix pop” sound to the British Summer Time (BST) Hyde Park Festival in London, marking their first performance on such a prestigious stage with a live band. The six-member group, comprising Haewon, Lily, Sullyoon, BAE, Jiwoo, and Kyujin, expressed their excitement and gratitude for the opportunity in a post-show interview.

Lily, the Australia-born vocalist, described the experience of performing in the historical park as surreal. “When I heard that we were performing here, it felt crazy. Even just visiting would have been fun, but performing here is something else,” she shared enthusiastically.

The group, known for their energetic performances, acknowledged the new dynamics brought by performing with a live band at a festival. Lily highlighted the flexibility and synergy they experienced compared to using a backtrack. “With a band, you can adjust the pace, slow down or speed up as you go. It was an interesting adjustment for us,” she noted.

NMIXX made their debut in early 2022 and have quickly garnered attention with two extended play records, three single albums, and successful tours across Asia and the United States. Their track “Love Me Like This” recently crossed 100 million streams on Spotify, with other hits like “O.O” and “DASH” approaching 200 million streams, solidifying their global popularity.

In addition to their musical achievements, NMIXX members have also been part of high-profile European catwalk shows for a Spanish luxury brand, reflecting their rising status in the global fashion scene.

Looking ahead, the group teased their fans with a preview of their upcoming song “Moving On,” promising new and diverse music styles. “We’re working hard on new music that’s fresh and different,” Kyujin stated. “You can expect a hip mix that we haven’t shown you yet, a bit more free,” added Sullyoon, hinting at the group’s evolving sound and artistic direction.
