Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar, has announced his second engagement. The ceremony was held at the family residence in Lahore’s Model Town and attended by prominent family members, including Nawaz Sharif and Mian Javed Shafi, whose daughter will be Junaid’s new fiancé.
The engagement links two influential families, as Mian Javed Shafi is a long-time confidante of Nawaz Sharif and co-runs Ittefaq Group Industries alongside the Sharif family. This union underscores continued ties within Pakistan’s political and business elite.

Junaid’s first marriage to Ayesha Saif Khan, daughter of former NAB chairman Saif-ur-Rehman Khan, ended amicably in October 2023. Since then, Junaid has been focusing on supporting his mother’s political duties after her appointment as Punjab Chief Minister.
Known for his academic excellence, Junaid holds multiple degrees from prestigious UK universities and is also an accomplished polo player, making him one of the Sharif family’s most distinguished members.
