The 34-year-old confirmed he will step down after England’s final Group B match against South Africa on Saturday.
Buttler, who took over from Eoin Morgan in June 2022, said it was the “right time” to step aside and focus on his batting.
As captain, he led England in 44 ODIs (18 wins, 25 losses, 1 no-result) and 51 T20Is (26 wins, 22 losses, 3 no-results).
