JI chief Hafiz Naeem has criticized the government’s 'fascism' while also engaging in negotiations

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has made strong statements regarding the ongoing negotiations with the government amid their protest activities. Addressing a sit-in in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh, Hafiz Naeem expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s negotiation team, demanding a more empowered committee to address their concerns effectively. The current three-member government team includes Amir Maqam, Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, and Attaullah Tarar.

The protests, which have seen road closures and detours, have shifted to Murree Road in Rawalpindi, drawing a large crowd. Hafiz Naeem criticized the government for its handling of the situation, including the arrests of JI workers and the impact on the salaried class and traders. He emphasized that the protests will persist until significant relief is provided, including reductions in electricity bills, taxation reforms, and changes in policies related to Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
