Jeju Air Crash in South Korea Claims 62 Lives

A Jeju Air passenger plane crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea, killing 62 people and injuring many others.

According to international reports, flight 7C2216, carrying 181 passengers and crew, was returning from Bangkok, Thailand, when it crashed during landing. The Boeing 737-800 reportedly skidded off the runway, with a suspected bird strike potentially causing a landing gear malfunction, though this has not been confirmed.

In response to the crash, all flights at Muan Airport have been canceled, and South Korea’s acting president has ordered full-scale rescue operations.
