Japan Unveils Rapid 6G Device With 100Gbps Data Speed

As numerous developing countries, including Pakistan, await the introduction of 5G technology, a Japanese telecommunications company has revealed a wireless internet device capable of transmitting data at an astounding rate of 100Gbps—twenty times faster than 5G.

Developed by DOCOMO, NTT Corporation, NEC Corporation, and Fujitsu, this lightning-fast device has been in the works for a few years, focusing on sub-terahertz technology in preparation for the 6G era. Recent tests have demonstrated its capability to achieve data rates of 100 gigabits per second (Gbps) over distances of up to 330 feet (100 meters).

Unlike 5G, which primarily operates below 6 GHz and in the 40 GHz millimeter-wave bands, 6G is anticipated to utilize higher-frequency sub-terahertz bands. This necessitates the development of new wireless devices, as these bands, ranging between 100 and 300 GHz, present various challenges.

The advent of 6G technology holds the promise of ultra-HD video streaming and real-time control in autonomous vehicles on a global scale. As technology continues to advance, the potential applications and benefits of lightning-fast data transmission are vast and varied, promising to revolutionize various aspects of daily life and industry.
