In the Gaza Strip, Israel has severed all communication and continued its bombing campaign after weeks of airstrikes and the forced eviction of Palestinian residents from their homes.
The Gaza health ministry reported on Sunday that the death toll in the Palestinian territory has exceeded 8,000 since the Israeli bombings commenced on October 7. Among the casualties, over 3,600 children have tragically lost their lives in this conflict.

The United Nations’ human rights chief, Volker Turk, issued a warning about the potential disastrous outcomes of extensive ground operations in Gaza. He expressed concern that such operations could result in the loss of thousands more civilian lives.
