At least 82 Palestinians were killed in a wave of Israeli air and ground attacks across the Gaza Strip, with some of the deadliest incidents occurring near humanitarian aid distribution points. Health officials in Gaza confirmed that 34 of the victims were civilians — including women and children — waiting for food assistance in central and southern areas.
One of the most lethal attacks took place in central Gaza, where Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on a crowd near an aid center, killing at least 23 people. Eleven others were killed in similar incidents in the south. Gaza City also came under intense bombardment, where 23 more people lost their lives. Additionally, a residential home in Deir el-Balah was struck by Israeli warplanes, resulting in multiple casualties.

The Gaza Government Media Office reported that since May 27, when the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) — a group backed by Israel and the United States — began operations, at least 409 people have been killed while attempting to receive aid, with over 3,200 injured. International agencies have raised alarms over the safety and credibility of aid distribution, accusing the GHF of contributing to dangerous conditions and mass casualty events.
UNICEF and other humanitarian groups described the crisis as catastrophic, citing the collapse of Gaza’s water infrastructure and the increasing deaths due to thirst and malnutrition. “Just 40 percent of Gaza’s drinking water facilities are still operational,” UNICEF spokesperson James Elder warned, adding that children are at severe risk.
Amid the worsening situation in Gaza, regional tensions continue to rise. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned Israel’s military campaign, accusing it of “madness” and warning of a fast-approaching point of no return in the region. Erdogan also highlighted Israel’s own strikes on Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure, countering its recent complaints about Iranian attacks on hospitals.
As the war enters its ninth month, Gaza’s death toll has surpassed 37,000, with more than 1.9 million people displaced. Global calls for a ceasefire and unfettered humanitarian access are growing louder as the crisis deepens.
