Israeli Airstrikes Kill Over 100 Palestinians in Gaza

Israeli airstrikes on Thursday resulted in the deaths of at least 112 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, including 27 children, most of whom were killed at a school in Gaza City, local health officials reported. The strikes are considered one of the deadliest days of Israel’s ongoing offensive, which resumed following a ceasefire collapse in mid-March.

In the Tuffah neighborhood, an Israeli bomb hit Dar al-Arqam School, where dozens of displaced families had taken refuge. Health officials confirmed that among the dead were 14 children and five women, while more than 70 others, many critically injured, were hospitalized. The Israeli military stated that the strike targeted a Hamas command center, but Hamas condemned the attack as a “heinous massacre,” claiming Israel had deliberately targeted civilian shelters.

Further airstrikes in Shijaiyah killed over 30 people in separate strikes on residential buildings. As Israel continues its military operations, new evacuations have been ordered in parts of northern Gaza, forcing thousands of civilians to flee their homes. Many have walked for hours to find shelter, with some using carts to carry their belongings.

In Khan Younis, southern Gaza, overnight air raids killed at least 55 people, including several women and children. The casualties were reported in local hospitals, including Nasser Hospital and the European Hospital. The ongoing violence has taken a heavy toll, with Gaza’s Health Ministry reporting over 50,000 Palestinian deaths since the conflict began, many of them women and children.
