Israel–Premier Tech Team Loses Title Sponsor After Mounting Pressure

The Israel–Premier Tech cycling team has lost its main title sponsor after Canadian company Premier Tech announced its withdrawal. The decision came following months of rising political tension and public protests linked to the team’s Israeli identity.

Premier Tech confirmed that it would immediately end its partnership, saying the environment surrounding the sponsorship had become “untenable.” The company stated that its original goals for supporting the team no longer aligned with current circumstances.

This decision followed repeated protests during major European races, including the Vuelta a España, where demonstrators opposed the team’s participation. Several events saw activists calling for the team’s exclusion due to its association with Israel.

Earlier this year, the team revealed plans to rebrand for the 2026 season, dropping “Israel” from its official title to avoid further controversy. However, Premier Tech’s exit could disrupt these plans and affect its financial stability.

Team management expressed disappointment but assured fans that new sponsorship talks are already underway. They hope to continue racing under a new identity next season despite the setback.

The loss of Premier Tech marks a challenging period for the team, which now faces pressure to rebuild both its brand and financial backing before the next season begins.
