Israel Kills Hezbollah Leader in Deadly Beirut Airstrike

Israel carried out a powerful airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburb, killing a senior Hezbollah commander in a major escalation.
According to officials, the attack targeted the group’s chief of staff, striking a building in Haret Hreik during nighttime hours.

Lebanese authorities confirmed multiple casualties, including the death of the Hezbollah leader and several civilians nearby.
Emergency teams rushed to the scene as fires spread through the damaged structure following the strike.

Israel said the operation was aimed at preventing Hezbollah from rebuilding its military network in the region.
Officials claimed the targeted commander had been involved in planning cross-border attacks and coordinating militant operations.

Hezbollah condemned the strike and vowed retaliation, calling it a direct attack on Lebanese sovereignty.
The group said its response would come “at a time and place of its choosing,” raising fears of further escalation.

Lebanese leaders denounced the airstrike and urged international bodies to intervene to halt Israeli aggression.
They warned that continued attacks could destabilise the region at a critical moment.

Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have been rising for months, with both sides exchanging threats.
Analysts believe this strike may push the conflict into a more dangerous phase.
