Israel has agreed to permit a restricted quantity of food aid into Gaza for the first time in 10 weeks, amid escalating international pressure and warnings of widespread famine among the enclave’s 2.1 million residents. The decision comes as Israel intensifies its military campaign, launching “Operation Gideon’s Chariot” with ground operations across the Gaza Strip.
Despite easing the blockade slightly, Israeli officials emphasized that Hamas would be prevented from controlling aid distribution. Netanyahu’s office stated that allowing famine conditions would undermine Israel’s military goals.

Israeli airstrikes have continued unabated, with at least 67 Palestinians killed and over 360 injured in the last 24 hours, according to Gaza’s health ministry. Strikes have also devastated key medical facilities, including three hospitals in northern Gaza, rendering them non-functional.
A deadly overnight attack on the al-Mawasi displacement camp – designated a safe zone – killed 22 and injured over 100. Israeli forces claim they were targeting Hamas infrastructure, though medical staff at the bombed Indonesian Hospital reported no prior warnings or military presence nearby.
