[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of Twitter, was accused of antisemitism by Israel on Tuesday after he suggested a Jewish businessman and philanthropist hated humanity.

Musk has previously tweeted that Holocaust survivor George Soros “hates humanity” and reminds him “of Magneto,” a comic book villain from Marvel’s X-Men series.

According to Israel’s Foreign Ministry, the word “the Jew” became a trending topic on Twitter after Musk’s remark.

According to a ministry statement, Musk’s words about Soros, 92, “immediately led to antisemitic conspiracy theories on Twitter.”

Musk’s remarks come just days after Soros’ investment firm reported that it had sold off its entire shares of Tesla stock.

Several Jewish organisations recently accused Musk of not doing more to combat antisemitism on Twitter after he purchased it in October.

However, this is the first time Israel has formally and directly accused Musk of antisemitism.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
